Franklin D. Barnes, age 79 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born on March 16, 1945, to the late Roy and Jennie (Walls) Barnes Sr. Before his retirement, Frank was employed as a land surveyor, a job he dearly loved. A devout Christian, he loved the Lord and was a member of Elk River Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Barnes, Roy Barnes Jr, J.W. Barnes, Jess Barnes, and Doc Barnes. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Linda Barnes; children, Mark Barnes, and Lisa (Derrick) Hale; siblings, Alva Johnson, and Joe (Carol) Barnes; grandchildren, Darian Barnes, and Daci Barnes; great-grandchildren, Ayden Emberton, and Emma Swafford; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10am-2pm on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home.
