Frankie Nell Compton, age 99, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Sunday, March 12, 2023, at her daughter’s residence.
She was a native of Marshall County, the daughter of the late Charles Calahan and Annie Mai Glenn Calahan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alford Compton; two sons, Eddie Compton and Ronnie Compton.
She is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann (the late Bob) Church, Sandra (Eddie) Warren, Nelda (Mike) Adgent all of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law Debbie (the late Ronnie) Compton; granddaughters, Amber Compton, Megan Meek and Angela Finley; grandsons, Rodney Church, Eric Compton, John Michael Adgent and Vance Adgent; 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Frankie is fondly remembered for her musical talent as an organist and pianist. She and her husband, Alford, could be found most weekends singing and playing as part of a gospel quartet. She served as the organist and pianist at Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 50 years. She also served as pianist at Farmington Baptist Church and Bethbirei Church until her health declined. She was the Secretary and Vice President of Rock Creek Bible Society for many years. She worked as bookkeeper for the Lewisburg Gas Department and retired after 40 years of service.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bethbirei Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm.
