Frank-Landers-1455893235Frank Thomas ‘Tommy’ Landers, age 77 passed away February 19, 2016 at his home.

He was born April 24, 1938 in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Roy C. and Melba Hubler Landers. He attended schools in Imboden, AR.

He was married to Sandra Jean Barnes on August 25, 1961 in Memphis, TN. They made their home in Memphis, and moved to Deanburg in 1991. He was a member of the Deanburg Baptist Church and served as Deacon. He was little league coach, basketball and T-Ball coach through the Frayser Recreation Association for several years. He was a truck driver, having worked with Navajo Trucking, Levi Strauss, Transcon Truck Lines and the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He also worked for the Chester County Solid Waste Department. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed woodworking and helping others.

Mr. Landers is survived by his wife, Sandra Jean Barnes Landers of Pinson; three sons, Michael Joe Landers (Ruth) of Bartlett, TN, Mark Thomas Landers (Renee) and Timothy A. Landers (Barbara) all of the Deanburg Community; a sister, Barbara Crain of Enid, OK; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Mark David (2009); a brother, Bobby Sullivan and a sister, a brother-in-law Charlie Crain; and a close friend, Martin Eggensperger (2009).

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Brother Tilman Mays and Brother Mike Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Deanburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday.
