Frank Manning Jr, age 91, was born in Galveston, Texas, the only child of the late Frank and Mattie Manning. At an early age, Frank united with St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galveston. After graduation from Central High School in 1940, he attended Prairie View University until he was drafted in the U.S. Army. On Aug. 24, 1957, Frank married Ida Mae Martin, of Alexander City, Alabama. God blessed their union with two daughters, Brenda and Lillian. They resided in Tuscumbia, Alabama until 1971, and then moved to Florence where he remained until he moved to Birmingham after the death of his beloved wife, Ida Mae, on July 30, 2007, after 49 years of marriage. In Florence, Frank became a faithful member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he had served as financial secretary, treasurer, and deacon until he was called home on Thursday, July 16, 2015.
