Frank H. Gerecht, 80, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at home. Frank was a devoted husband of 59 years to his lovely wife Barbara who preceded him in death. He was a caring father and patriot to our nation. He was a professional soldier for 21 years. He saw 36 months of combat in Korea and Vietnam. Frank was a quiet man who cared deeply about his family and his country.
He is survived by his six children, Linda Friend (Rick) of Irmo, South Carolina, John Gerecht of Kathleen, GA, Connie Gerecht of Indian Trail, NC, Cindy Goad of Huntsville, Al, Teresa Dail (Mark) of Huntsville, Al, and Mark Gerecht (Patricia) of Huntsville, Al; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sole remaining sibling, Anna Maria Peterson, of Parker Colorado.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
