Frank Eugene Norman, II died at Sunshine Healthcare Center in Pontotoc on April 1, 2023 after a lingering illness. He was 84. Frank was born on January 13, l939 in Baldwyn to the late Frank E. Norman, Sr. and Monia Gwendolyn “Gwen” Wallis. He graduated from Baldwyn High School in l957 and attended Mississippi State University. Frank married his wife, Patsy Ann Wheeler in Baldwyn on May 30, l958, a marriage of 64 years. He worked at B and B Concrete and Jesco, Inc. before founding Norman Construction and spent his lifetime as a building contractor in the Tupelo area. Frank was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. He spent much time on his farm in the Geeville Community near Baldwyn where he had a special closeness to the land and its bounty. Frank adored his grandchildren and they affectionately referred to him as D.D. Frank and Pat were longtime faithful and active members of West Jackson St. Baptist Church where he was a past Deacon.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 1 PM Thursday, April 6, 2023 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Dr. Keith Cochran and Bro. Chris O’Daniel officiating. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 AM-service time Thursday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Pat of Belden; his daughters, Kathy Norman Wammock (David, deceased) of Belden and Monia Norman Beasley and husband, Pat of Amory; his grandchildren, Mariann Church (Mike) of Belden, Lee Wommack of Belden, Lindsey Dickerson (Paul) of Potts Camp, Sara Kathryn Vaughn (Justin) of Mobile, Ala, Patrick Beasley, Jr. of Tupelo and Brayden Wommack of Belden; 2 great grandchildren, Lena Pangle and her father, Jeffrey Pangle of Atlanta and Haley Church of Belden; special family friends, Eric Castillo and Kellie Bell of Tupelo and Kaylie Hall of Tupelo. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Frank Eugene “Frankie” Norman, III, a son in law, David Wommack and a brother, Gary Norman.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday School Class at West Jackson St. Baptist Church. The family asks that memorials be made to West Jackson St. Baptist Church, 1349 West Jackson St., Tupelo, MS. 38801.
