Francis Woodrow Brown, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at his home. He was born August 1, 1938, in Gordo, Alabama. He was a District Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, member of First Baptist Church in Booneville, The Bulldog Club, and the Mississippi Officials Association. He served as a referee for 42 years. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, camping and anything outdoors. He loved MSU.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2023, at McMillan Funeral Home with Dr. Lynn Jones, Bro. Jason Reed officiating and Jerry Moore giving a tribute. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mantee. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Dale Brown; three sons, Ty Brown, Chad Brown (Ashlea) and Chase Brown (Ashley); and five grandchildren, Blakely Brown, Mason Brown, Beck Brown, Decker Brown and Woods Brown.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucile Brown Garrison; step-father, Roy Garrison; and one grandchild, Knox Brown.
Pallbearers are Manfred Saylors, Ron Whitehead, Lonnie McKee, Jerry Moore, Jay Schertz, Jackie Moore and Smith McCreary.
