Francis Roland Herston, 85, Florence, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Reggie Bruce officiating. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery, Cherokee.
Roland was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elizabeth Herston, and siblings, Gene Herston and Nancy Hill.
Roland is survived by his children, Sherry Springer (Michael), Larry Roland Herston, Ricky Herston (Maria), Patricia Bailey, Debra Rhodes, and Phillip Hayes (Donna); sister, Doris Hendrix; grandchildren, Ray Blackstock, Stephanie O’Kelley, Eric Springer, Charlie Springer, Faith Bailey, and Summer Herston; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ray Blackstock, Dakota Blackstock, Greg Brown, Michael Springer, T J Bryson and Casey McMahan.
