Francis Harlan Stringer Francis Harlan Stringer, 83, died peacefully on April 13, 2023, at Piedmont Health Care Center. He was born November 20, 1939, in Monterey, TN, the son of Alexander and Henrietta Stringer.
Harlan had a long career in retail from Woolco, TG & Y and Wal-Mart. He retired from Wal-Mart in 2001. He met his wife Frances Neal while in college and living in Memphis, TN. They celebrated 60 years of marriage last June. He loved his family more than anything. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved fishing and gardening. He loved the Lord and we have peace knowing he is healed and in Heaven. He resided in Jacksonville, AL (Williams Community) since 1983.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, A.J. Stringer and Harvey Stringer; sisters, Dorothy Vick, Linda Bryant, Nathaline Frazier and Wanda Redmon; and grandson, Matthew Reese. Surviving in addition to his wife, Frances Neal Stringer, are daughter, Jeanna (Mike) Reese; son, David Stringer; son, Michael (Sandra) Stringer; daughter, Susan (Bodie) Moore; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Kirk) George, Mallory Stringer, Morgan (Zach) Harris, Abigail Stringer, Caleb Stringer, Savannah Moore and Cheyenne Moore; great grandchild, Emmitt Harris; and brother, Harold Stringer.
A special thank you to all who took such great care of him this last year. We have been so blessed with great caregivers at Piedmont Health Care Center and Southern Care New Beacon.
The family will have a private memorial and ash spreading at a later date.
