Frances Virginia Blanton, age 89 of Haleyville Alabama passed away on July 9, 2023 at home
surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Double
Springs, Alabama.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11th at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church from 6 until 9 pm.
Funeral service will be held at Mt. Caramel Baptist Church on July 12 at 2 pm. There will be a
viewing from 12 until 2 prior to the funeral service. Brothers Dennis Steward and Jeff Wiggins
will officiate. Burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Frances loved her family, and her hospice nurses even commented that she held on to see all
of her children, grand-children, great and great great grandchildren one more time. Her love for
her family was surpassed only by her love for Christ and her prayers will forever echo through
her family members’ ears.
Mrs. Blanton is survived by her children, Gregory Paul (Doris) Blanton, Pamela Jo Blanton, and
Glenda Blanton. Grandchildren Chas Blanton (Fiancé Jason Tidwell), Justin (Carrie) Blanton,
Kristie (Chris) Hyde, Jamie (Rachel) Blanton, Susan (Chuck) Frost, Wendy (Rodney) Lewis,
John (Kristen) Blanton, Harmony (Jeremy) Glenn, Zach Sutton, and Zana Sutton. She is also
survived by a host of great and great great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband James Arlin Blanton, daughter Debra
Lynette Blanton, son James Darrel Blanton, grand-daughter Stacy Nicole Blanton. Her parents
Glenn and Cadie Cauthen, sisters Glenna Kennedy, Florene Nichols, brothers Leon Cauthen,
and Donald Cauthen.
