Frances “Suzette” Black Robinson

Frances Suzette RobinsonFrances “Suzette” Black Robinson, 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 26, 2024. She was born June 3, 1951 to Billy and Betty Riddle Black of Athens, AL.  She was a graduate of Tanner High School.  She attended UNA for a few semesters.  It was there that she met the love of her life, Hugh L Robinson, Jr. “Robbie”.  They were married on January, 30, 1970.  Suzette retired from TVA after 14 years of service.  Suzette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved animals and antiques.  She was also an excellent cook.  She was a faithful Christian and was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ.

Suzette was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh L Robinson, Jr; her daughter, Ellen “Christine” Robinson Gaither; and her parents Billy and Betty Riddle Black.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn  Robinson Foote; her son, Hugh “Rob” L Robinson, III (Tamara); sister, Sandra Birdwell (Larry); brother, Steve Black (Dale); grandchildren, Aiden Gaither, Carson Foote, Arric Gaither, Carley Foote, Hugh L Robinson, IV, and Joseph Robinson, several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation and gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and staff on station 5 at Mitchell Hollingsworth, as well as Jamie with Preferred Hospice, for the loving care that was provided to our mother.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM in the chapel with Bro. Ricky Burger officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lauderdale County Animal Shelter, Wood Avenue Church of Christ, or Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home.
