Frances Ruth Hodgin McNatt, age 89, of Dennis, Mississippi, passed away on June 17, 2022, at Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home. She was born December 26, 1932, in Tishomingo, MS, to the late Cleborn and Bernice Hodgin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Bill McNatt; and two sisters, Billie Jean Henry and Judie Carol Henley.
Frances is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn McNatt Harris (Freddy) of Dennis, MS, and Sherry McNatt Busbee (David) of Collierville, TN; a brother, Kenny Hodgin (Sue); four grandchildren, Angela Durham Leathers (Jeff) of Belden, MS, Chad Durham (Cammy) of Maud, AL, Justin Busbee (Kelly) of Johnson City, TN, and Lindsay Busbee of Collierville, TN; seven great-grandchildren, Whitney Ray (Jeffrey), Cody Durham (Tess), Casey Durham, Maddox Bates, Ridge Busbee, Anderson Busbee, and Luna Kate Busbee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Frances worked for the Kellogg Company in Memphis, TN, for 17 years as a quality control inspector. She also worked for Holiday Inn in Memphis for 15 years as a party hostess. This is where she grew to love entertaining and catering. People came to her for catering events such as birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and holiday gatherings. Gardening, canning, and cooking were her favorite things to do. She had a garden every year and loved cooking with her fresh vegetables. Frances loved collecting antique furniture and glassware. She also loved spending time with her family and friends.
Cutshall Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, June 19, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Steve Hodgin. Interment will follow in Tishomingo Cemetery. All services will conclude at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Chad Durham, Cody Durham, Casey Durham, Lee Berry, Justin Busbee, and Robert Busbee.
Frances was of Christian faith and a member of Jackson Camp Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Jackson Camp Baptist Church, 70 County Road 121, Tishomingo, MS 38873.
