Frances P. Broadwater Frances P. Broadwater, 88, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, September 26th, 2024, at Limestone Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Broadwater was born on February 13th, 1936, in Limestone County, Alabama, to William and Olive (Isbell) Powell.

Mrs. Broadwater is survived by her daughters Beth Maher (Mike) and Nancy Jo Masucci (Gary); sons Dee Broadwater and Ben Broadwater (Paula); grandchildren Michael Maher, John Maher, David Maher, Nancy B. Whatley, Mary Beth Kollert, Joe Broadwater, and Emily Broadwater; and great-grandchildren Brooke Maher, Dylan Maher, Gabbi Maher, Sara Beth Whatley, Sophia Maher, Raelee Whatley, Anna Grace Maher, Emmaline Maher, Lilly Maher, and Hazel Whatley.

She is preceded in death by her parents William H. Powell and Olive P. Powell; husband Joe B. Broadwater; and brothers Bobby Powell and Billy Ray Powell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Broadwater will be Monday, September 30th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Central Church of Christ, with Justin Moore officiating. Visitation will be September 30, at the church, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Maher, John Maher, David Maher, Perry Whatley, Gabe Abernathy, and Dylan Maher. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Broadwater enjoyed French hand sewing, gardening, needlework, and traveling. She was also an avid bridge player. She was a devoted wife who loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was member at both Central Church of Christ and Ephesus Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County. Special thanks to the staff at Limestone Lodge.
