Funeral Service for Frances Marilyn Wimberley, 91, of Decatur, Alabama will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Alan Robinson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday 10:00 to 11:30AM at the funeral home. Graveside service will be Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Obion Chapel Cemetery in Cedar Grove, TN.
Mrs. Wimberley died on Thursday, December 8, 2022. She was born March 31, 1931 in Carroll County, Tennessee to John Fay Robinson and Frances Harmon Porter Robinson. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed traveling, member of Austinville Church of Christ, loving friend and loved everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Alford and husband Melvin Wimberley, daughter, Becky Kimbrell, sister, Geraldine Flippin, and infant great-granddaughter.
Survivors include, daughters, Jennie Taylor (Kenneth), Debbie Iddins (Nick), five grandchildren, Chad Kimbrell, Kim Howell (Luke), Lori Bowers (Jacob), Jeremy Iddins(Kala), Morgan Kent (Rodney), eleven great-grandchildren, brother Ray ‘Bud” Robinson (Pat), sister Brenda Smith(Jim) of McKenzie , TN, and eight nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Obion Chapel Cemetery Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
