Frances Marie South Smith, 90, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Manchester, Tennessee and graduated from East High School in Nashville. Frances was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lovingly became known as “Gram”, and was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ.
Frances was preceded in death by her mother, James Lenora South, father, Winfred Jerome South, and her husband of 60 years, Hulan Bernie Smith. Survivors include her children, Hulan Bernie Smith, Jr., Sherrie Smith Schrimsher (Rick) and Timothy Smith; granddaughter, Amy Schrimsher King (B.J.); great-grandchildren, Riley Marie King and Grady James King; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, November 2 at Mayfair Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at the church with Dr. Gary Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
