Frances “Jackie” Gifford, age 75 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Laurel Oaks Assisted Living. Jackie was born on August 20, 1949, in Blue Island, Illinois, to the late Raymond “Pete” Griggs and Lucille Nygren Griggs Benson. She worked for many law offices in Franklin County for over forty years and was also a long-time tax preparer. Jackie had an amazing ability to start businesses and be successful at anything she put her mind to. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who treasured the time spent traveling to watch Ryan race and Jabryle play football. In her spare time, Jackie enjoyed shopping, cooking and most recently watching the Hallmark Channel.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Farrel Gifford; daughter, Michelle “Missy” Gifford; and sister, Darlene Fischer.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Gifford ; son, Thomas John Gifford; grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla) Gifford, Antonio Jabryle (Carly) Hill, Maia Larson, Paige (Michael) Farina, Tommy John Gifford and Maici Lu Henley; sister, Judie Rundstrom; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for Jackie will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 1:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
