Frances Hannah Patterson, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012.
Her family will receive friends for visitation at Colbert Memorial Chapel 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. Keith Davis will officiate the service beginning at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
During her 80 years, Frances was involved in many church activities at Cox Boulevard and Petersville Churches of Christ. She assisted with World Bible School Correspondence. She retired from Helen Keller Hospital after many years of service.
Like the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31, she worked willingly, took care of her household, strengthened and cared for her children, and reached out to the needy. Strength and honor were her clothing. “Her children rise up and call her blessed. Let her own works praise her in the gates.”
She is survived by her children, Malissa Jones (Michael), Teresa Casiday White, Walter Patterson Jr. (Norma), Debra Bailey (Doug) and Shelia Bryant Allen (Ben); grandchildren, Christy, Michael Jr., Marc and Matthew Jones, Michael, Nicholas and Craig Casiday, Jonathan Patterson, Kimberly Butler, Karli Bailey, Kayla Bryant Hill and Justin Bryant; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Cartee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Eva Campbell; brothers, Walter and Frank Campbell; sisters, Melba Willis, Lois Terry and Maebell Amos; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kylie Bailey; and a son-in-law, Don White.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family gives a special thanks to the nursing staff at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home, Dr. Ridgeway and Dr. Syed for all of the care shown to their mother; and to Jonathan Anderson with Colbert Memorial Chapel.
