Mrs. Frances Gossett, age 81 of Sand Rock, formerly of the Alexis Community, passed away Saturday February 6th at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1: PM Tuesday, February 9th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel; with
Rev. Harold O’Neal officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8: PM Monday.
Pallbearers are; Charles Anthony, Keith Mobbs, Curtis Abernathy, Michael Abernathy,
Chris O’Neal and Tad Abernathy.
Survivors include sons, James (Gail) Gossett of Alexis and Freddie (Pam) Gossett of Alexis; daughters, Ailene (Jimmy) Tucker of Sand Rock, Gladys Doss of Cedar Bluff, Sandy (Randy) Tucker of Centre; brothers, Garvin Matthews of Hopkinsville, KY, Clarence Matthews of Orlando, FL; sisters Faye Abernathy of Cedar Bluff, Elizabeth Steel of Cave Spring, GA; 10 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband Rife Gossett, daughters; Pam Holcomb, and Dianne Gossett.
Mrs. Gossett was a native of Floyd County, GA, the son of the late Jimmy and Alma Smith Matthews and was of the Baptist faith.
