Frances Faye Hughes of Deanburg  Frances “Fran” Faye Hughes, age 78 passed away Tuesday evening at her home in Henderson.

She was born in Greens Fork, IN in Wayne County on November 29, 1942, daughter of the late Walter Russell and Lena Vera Nicholson Atwell. She grew up in Greens Fork and graduated from Greens Fork High School.

She married Thomas Hughes on November 10, 1987 and they made their home in Richmond, IN. They moved to Henderson, TN in 2001.

She was a wife and homemaker and her children and grandchildren were her passion. She enjoyed bowling, growing flowers and decorating her home. She also passionately loved playing Bingo.

She is survived by her husband Tom of Henderson; a son Shon Fisher and wife Kim of Richmond, TN; daughters Francine Hicks and husband Chad of Henderson, Belinda Hittle and husband Ronnie of Richmond; Robin Melnick of Henderson; nine grandchildren Ronnie Hittle, Jr., Amy Hittle Yount, Brihanna Fisher, Tierra Stewart, Bradley Newhouse, Brian Johnson, Greg Hines, Ethan and Raven Hicks; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Keighton Crawford; three brothers Marvin, Junior and Gene Atwell; and two sisters Donna Ball and Libby Matthews.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – East Main Chapel.

The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel on Friday, July 30, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
