Frances D. Johnson, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Vanderbilt-Harton Medical Center in Tullahoma. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 10, 1938, to the late DeVaughn W. and Lula May (Davis) Davidson. Frances attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama and later attended Auburn University studying home economics. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, decorating, and cooking, as well as reading and working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Frances was a dedicated wife and mother, supporting her family in all endeavors, especially her husband through his military career. A devoted Christian, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Col. (Ret.) James “Jim” Johnson. Frances is survived by her loving children, Angie Johnson, and Cheryl Leigh (Greg) Stringfield; brother, Earl Davidson (Jill); grandchildren, Carter James (Kara) Stringfield, and Davis Gregory (Brooke) Stringfield; and great-grandchildren, James Everett Stringfield and Anna Claire Stringfield, and Noah Gregory Stringfield. Visitation will be from 12-1pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm at Watson Funeral Home in the Roy B. Watson Chapel.
