Frances Colleen Holley Nance departed this life from Sanctuary Hospice House at 1:33 AM Monday, August 8, 2022 after a brief illness.  She was 93 years old. Born in Tippah County on June 13, 1929 to the late Early Holley and Dolly Moffett Holley, she grew up in Dumas and graduated from Ripley High School.  In 1946, she married Robert Neal Nance, a marriage of 49 years until his death in 1995. The family moved to Lee County in 1967 from Ripley. Colleen spent over 35 years as a seamstress working for Blue Bell Manufacturing retiring as supervisor.  Colleen enjoyed  life, her home and yard including riding her lawn mower, sewing for herself and others including making face masks during the Covid pandemic  and visiting with family and friends.  She was an avid Walmart shopper planning her week around trips to shop.

A brief service celebrating her life will take place at 11 AM Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022 at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel with private burial to follow in Nance Cemetery in Ripley.  Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.  Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends.

Colleen is survived by her sister, Nelly Wallace (Charles); a grandson, Brian Nance (Tracye); a daughter in law, Betty Smith; 4 great grandsons, Bailey and Tanner Nance and Uriah and Kyle Nance;  a great granddaughter, Maya Nance.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob Nance, a son, Wayne Nance, a daughter Barbara Joan Nance and a grandson, Brad Nance.
