Frances Bowling Webb – Obituary

Frances Bowling Webb was born in Olive Hill, Tennessee on January 12, 1925 the daughter of the late Joe Martin and Rebecca Williams Bowling.

In Falls Church, Virginia on August 14, 1992 she was united in marriage to James William Webb, Jr. who survives.

Mrs. Webb was a retired United States Postal worker, where she worked her way up to Senior Secretary for the Post Master General in Washington, D.C. She was a member of Berkeley Springs West Virginia Church of Christ. Mrs. Webb, along with her husband James, had charities that were special to them and gave a lot of support to. The charities they supported are National Association of the Blind, Fire and Rescue, Alzheimer’s Association, American Diabetes Association and the Cancer Society. Mrs. Webb enjoyed helping and visiting those in hospital and the disabled. In her spare time she loved working in her yard and garden and doing crafts. She loved dogs and cats and especially loved taking care of her neighbors schnauzer, Nicky. Mrs. Webb enjoyed visiting family in Tennessee and having them come visit her home.

She departed this life on April 28, 2018 in Virginia at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 16 days.

In addition to her husband, James of 25 years, she is survived by one daughter, Teresa Achee of Alexandria, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Louise Bowling of Fortville, Indiana and Audrey Bowling of Savannah, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; Pearl Davis, Ethel Alexander and Bell Bowling; and eight brothers; Fred, Taylor, Dexter, Tommy, Burgess, Frank, Earl and Joe Jr. Bowling.
