Frances Bowers, 89, of Athens, passed away on Monday, December 20th, 2021, at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Bowers was born on June 21st, 1932, to Walter and Inis Elizabeth Matthews Vaughan.
Mrs. Bowers is survived by her daughters Gloria Hardison Hall (Dr. Charles R. Hall) of Athens, AL and Kathy Bowers Hardy (Darrell) Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren Lara Hall Malone (Kevin) of Athens, AL, Sarah Hall Pierce of Athens, AL, and Melanie Hall Williams of Athens, AL; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Inis Vaughan, husbands David Hardison and Albert “Mutt” Bowers; one brother and several sisters.
Graveside services for Mrs. Bowers will be Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, with Darrell Hardy officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Malone, Tyler Pierce, Ethan Pierce, Nate Malone, and John Adams.
Mrs. was a life-long member of Market Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, and her family.
