Former Alabama Law Maker and Trump Campaign Official Charged With Sexual Abuse 1st

MONTGOMERY-On Tuesday, August 23 Perry Hooper, Jr., 67 was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Task Force.  Hooper has been charged with First Degree Sexual Abuse.

According to the Montgomery Police Department Hooper is being charged with an alleged abuse that took place on August 16 in the 100 block of Commerce Street in downtown Montgomery.  Hooper is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

Hooper was in the Alabama Legislature for nearly 20 years serving until 2003. He is still involved in Republican politics serving on the AGOP Executive Committee.  He also was co-chair for Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.  His father is Perry Hooper, SR, he was an Alabama Chief Justice from 1995 until 2001.

Hooper’s bond has been set at $15,000.  Hooper could not be reached for comment.
