Floyd Ray McKinney, 89, of Sheffield, passed from this life on Friday, August 9, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11th from 1:00 to 2:00 with the funeral service to follow in the chapel. David Conley will be officiating, and burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Ray attended Belgreen High School, and loved hunting in his younger years. He was a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ. Ray retired as Plant Operator from LaRoche Industries in Cherokee in August of 1997 after 35 years of service.
Ray is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 ½ years, Betty McKinney; his parents, Webster and Nora McKinney; and sisters, Vernell Gentry and Charlene Hellums. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Bonds (Kevin), Sharon Richardson (Kevin Smith); brother, Jack McKinney (Linda); grandchildren, Lorrie Crawford (Devin), Taylor Malone (& family), Lane Gulley (& family); great-grandchildren, Kynlee & Colt Crawford; sister-in-law, Linda Gist; and several nieces and nephews.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Brad McAnally for his many years of providing care to our Daddy, the ICU staff at Helen Keller Hospital, Dr. Connor and Dr. Mansell for their special care during this last week.
