Floyd Lee Lawshea, age 75, a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 2:30PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Floyd was born in Blountville, Arkansas, on February 26, 1949, to the late Henry Lawshea and Aleatha Burris Lawshea.
Floyd proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, he continued his dedication to hard work through a long career with General Motors. He was of the Baptist faith. Floyd enjoyed a life full of simple pleasures. He was passionate about fishing, a devoted fan of American football, and an avid supporter of the Tennessee Titans. His love for history was matched only by his enjoyment of Western TV shows, and he found great joy in traveling, gardening, and playing card games with friends and family. He cherished every moment spent at family gatherings.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Antonia Saldana Lawshea; sons, Michael Butler, Norman Gary; daughters, Lonnika Gary, Ashley (Evan) Lewis, and Anna (Allen) Hunter; brothers, Tony (Evelyn) Lawshea and Gordon Lawshea; sisters, Lois Lawshea, Genny Minnix, and Connie (Mark) Wilson; grandchildren, Jada, Shanelle, Chase, Zeivon, Kai, Ruben, Andreita, Yanira, Nevelle, and Rowan, Niall; and great grandchild, Aleatha.
