Floyd Edward Smith, 89 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at his home.
Born Sunday, December 23, 1923 in Ardmore, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Murray Smith and the late Nina Shelton Smith. He lived most of his life in the Ardmore area and was a member of Ardmore First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and walking. He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy “Dot” Hargrove Smith. He was a Navy Veteran, serving in WWII.
Surviving are his son, Eddie & Cindy Smith of Inkster, MI, grandchildren: Tricia Colwell and Justin Smith, and great-grandchildren: Noah Smith, Nathan Smith, and Roman Colwell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Alan Hughes and Bro. Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery, Blanche, TN.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
