Services for Floyd Earl Hawkins Jr., 77, are set for 2:00 pm Thursday February 3, 2022 at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, TN with brother George Kyle officiating. Burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation from 12:00 pm until service time.
Floyd died peacefully at home surrounded by family February 1, 2022 in Selmer , TN. He was born June 12, 1944 in Selmer, TN to the late Floyd Earl and Mary Frances Graham Hawkins Sr.
Floyd lived in Selmer all his life. He graduated from Selmer High School in 1962, joined the Tennessee National Guard and served 6 years being federalized twice during that time. Floyd worked 37 years for the Town of Selmer. He started from the bottom, worked his way up and retired in 2009 as the Public Works Director. In retirement, Floyd worked part time for the USPS, he enjoyed yard work, fishing, crossword puzzles, taking care of his pets, feeding his coons and traveling with his wife. Floyd was a born again Christian and member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Floyd leaves the love of his life, wife of 44 years Mary Alice Johnson Hawkins; daughter Lisa Lambert (Brad); son Bryan Earl Hawkins Sr. (Dawn); step-daughter Liz Kiser; step-son Randy Kiser; grandchildren, Jonathan Goodrum (Autumn), Amanda Goodrum (Jimmy West), Joshua Goodrum, Zach Wilbanks (Jessie), Gracie Taylor (Marshall), Henry Joe Lambert, Dectony Thompson(TJ), Necole Ramey(Jake), Katlyn Hawkins, Lindsey Hawkins (Eric Merchant), Bryan Earl Hawkins Jr, Sarah Hawkins; Son-In-Law, Darrell Goodrum (Cassie Wallis);Sister Jackie Wardlow (Phillip);Brothers Jim Hawkins (Alice), Bill Hawkins(Maudine);14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers are Bryan Earl Hawkins Jr., Keith Hawkins, Brad Lambert, Zach Wilbanks, Jonathan Goodrum and Joshua Goodrum.
