FLORENCE-On Tuesday, July 29, patrol officers from our Day B Shift of the Florence Police Department found a need in our community when they were contacted by community members.
Mr. Carter is well known in his neighborhood by his willingness to help those around him. On Monday, his bike was stolen while he was helping a neighbor with their house. Mr. Carter’s bicycle is his primary means of transportation. The FPD learned that Mr. Carter puts more miles on his bicycle in a day than most do on their car.
Members of the community and Spinning Spoke responded to the need and contributed to get him the new bike along with a cable lock and lights for night riding.
