FLORENCE– On Monday, January 25 the Florence Police Department report an arrest in a Child Abuse case that was reported to the department on January 22:
“On January 22, 2021, Mr. Stephen Purdy (8/06/1988) was arrested for Torture, willful abuse, etc., of child under 18 years of age by responsible person, Alabama Criminal Code 26-15-3.
The arrest came after Florence Police Investigators were notified of a juvenile victim by the Department of Human Resources.
Due to the ongoing investigation and the age of the victim no further information is available for release at this time.
Purdy has since been released from the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $2500 bond.”
