Florence Police Arrest Suspect Charged With Possession Of Forged Instrument 1st Degree

FLORENCE-On Tuesday, March 2 the Florence Police Department released a statement concerning a suspect arrested for Possession of A forged Instrument and other charges on Monday, March1:

“On March 1, 2021, Florence Police officers responded to 113 Cox Creek Pkwy South. It was reported that a male, later identified as Anthony Slaton, had attempted to use counterfeit money to make a purchase. As officers arrived, Mr. Slaton ran from the business and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. 

 Mr. Slaton was arrested for Criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree and Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officer. He was taken to the Lauderdale County Detention Center where he was later released on a $30,500 bond.”
