Florence Man Dies From Injuries Received From Friday Morning Traffic Accident

KILLEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident between a tractor and a truck n Friday has taken the life of one person and injured another person:

“A two-vehicle crash at approximately 10:03 a.m. Friday, February. 18, has claimed the life of a Florence man.

Roy L. Behel, 81, was critically injured when the 1995 John Deere tractor he was driving was struck by a 2018 Isuzu NPR truck, driven by David O. Calahan, 60, of Holly Pond. Behel and Calahan were both transported by helicopter to an area hospital, where on Monday, February 21, Behel succumbed to his injuries.

The crash occurred on U.S. 43 near the 330 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Killen, in Lauderdale County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
