FLORENCE-The Florence-Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has launched a brand new website which is more inclusive of the entire Shoals area. Created by Tempest, the new site will feature experiences and attractions in all four cities including smaller towns and rural areas of Lauderdale and Colbert counties.

The new website can be found by visiting www.visitflorenceal.com but will also have other redirecting domains including www.theshoalsal.com and www.visitshoals.com .

Visitors and residents will see changes to the site which will include a stronger presence of Colbert County cities – Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia along with more content that is representative of The Shoals and its diverse product offerings.

“We want visitors to our website to learn about the entire Shoals area to both broaden their experience and extend their stay” said Rob Carnegie, CEO, for the Florence-Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’ve all heard that visitors don’t see county and city lines and this will hopefully benefit every business in all four cities.”

Tempest, an award-winning integrated digital marketing agency based out of Philadelphia, was contracted in late 2018 to begin development of a new site. New features will include more vibrant imagery throughout the site, a sophisticated event calendar, more digital and copy content, and a robust content management system.

In 2017, the Florence-Lauderdale CVB came out with their official visitors’ guide which was entitled, The Shoals – and naming the four major cities in the two-county area. Coming off the heels of the PARCA report completed in the spring, the website has been developed in the spirit of having a single message for the Shoals area. New content will continually be added to the site.

2019 is the sophomore year for a 12-month digital ad campaign targeting Birmingham, Nashville, Memphis, Atlanta and the greater part of Alabama, outside the Shoals area. The campaign is populated with keywords that are representative of the entire area.

Carnegie said, “Tempest took the time to visit us for a few days to really understand the offering that’s here and learn more about the area. Our organization feels that the design, look and feel of the new site is incredibly impressive and truly captures the spirit of The Shoals.”
