FLORENCE-With Halloween just around the corner, Mayor Steve Holt issues guidance to ensure a safe, responsible Halloween celebration.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, any gatherings of members outside of immediate family are discouraged. If you are planning to host an event, Mayor Holt recommends outdoor activities, limiting participants to include only immediate family members, and active social distancing to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Additionally, please consider preparing individual packaged goodie bags for families to “grab-and-go” in an effort to encourage social distancing. Goodie bags can be left at the bottom of the driveway for contactless trick-or-treating in neighborhoods and prepared for Trunk-or-Treat, Fall Festivals, and other community outreach events.
Mayor Holt and the City Council encourage everyone to wear masks when appropriate and maintain a six-foot distance from those who are not members of your immediate family. Please know that this guidance is issued out of genuine care and concern for the citizens of Florence and with the hopes of minimizing the post-holiday spike in COVID-19 cases we have previously experienced.
