Florence Firefighters Battle Apartment Fire

Three Pets Saved

FLORENCE-Florence Fire Rescue issued a statement concerning a house fire on Thursday, September 28.  There were no injuries and the fire was contained.  Several pets were saved:

“Just before 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 28 Florence Fire crews were dispatched to an apartment fire at the corner of Sherrod Ave. and W. Lelia St. B-Shift crews from Stations #1, #3, and #5 worked aggressively to keep the fire contained to one apartment.

There were no injuries and personnel were able to remove two cats and one rabbit to safety and return them to their owners. One pet was given oxygen using one of our pet oxygen masks donated by Pets Are Worth Saving, Inc.”

Thank you Florence Firefighters for being so considerate of the animals. You are amazing. Thank you for containing the fire so the trees in the back did not catch fire and jeopardize our home which was very close. Great team thank you from the bottom of my heart!
