FLORENCE-Florence Fire Rescue is excited to share the latest plans for Florence Fire Station 4.  Tuesday evening, Chief Tim Anerton updated the Florence Council members on the project’s status which is expected to go out for bid by late July.
The new Station 4 will be 8,493 square feet, designed to meet modern standards and accommodate needs. The largest area of the station will be the apparatus room, which will have two bays, each deep enough to store two reserve apparatus. The station will be strategically located at the southwest corner of Mahogany Ave. and N. Franklin Street to optimize response times and serve the community more effectively.
Station 4 will replace the current firehouse on Huntsville Road. The existing station has served us well since it was built in 1964, but it is time to move into a facility that meets our needs and standards. The new station will provide firefighters with the space and resources they need to perform their duties more efficiently and safely. It will also provide adequate facilities for female firefighters.
We look forward to updating you on this project and appreciate your continued support as the project continues.
