Florence City Council Issues Notice Of Special Meeting

FLORENCE-The Florence City Council has issued a notice for a special meeting to discuss business about tourism in the city.

Pursuant to Ala.Code 1975 § 11-43-50, a special called meeting of the City Council of the City of Florence,
Alabama, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall in
Florence, Alabama, located on Pine Street for the purpose of considering the following resolutions:

1. Resolution approving the FOF QOZB One, LLC,
application to the Alabama Tourism Advisory Board
and/or the Alabama Tourism Department seeking
benefits pursuant to the Sweet Home Alabama Tourism
Investment Act and committing to the rebate of 20% of
the noneducational portion of the City’s sales and use
and lodging taxes generated by the proposed Reverb
Hotel.

2. Resolution approving the Florence Industrial
Development Board’s (a) abatement of the
noneducational Ad Valorem Taxes imposed on the
proposed Reverb Hotel by the City for a period of 20
years, and (b) abatement of the construction related
transaction taxes imposed on the developer of the
Reverb Hotel by the City.
All members of the public are invited to attend.
