Flora V. Thompson, age 84, of Killen, formerly of Sheffield, passed away Oct. 26, 2016. Visitation will be today, Oct. 30, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Charles Maples and Brother Ronny Jones officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by husband, Wayne Thompson; grandson, Jamie Murphy; and siblings, Burns Kent, T.B. Kent, Earl Kent, Montana Brown, Ethel Sexton, and Buck Kent.
Survivors include her children, Tricia Gray (Harold) and David Thompson (Cathy); grandchildren, Kevin Thompson (Lorri), April Marsh (Austin), Kimberly Smith (Jeff), and Justin Murphy (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Valerie Bragwell, Alli Thompson, Austin Elliott, Anna Thompson, Ty Marsh, Maggie Jae Marsh, and Will and Walker Murphy; niece, Kelly Brown and nephew, Rodric Kent.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Thompson, Justin Murphy, Matthew Cole, Harold Gray, Todd Gray, and Austin Marsh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers Denella Denson and Ann Owens, and to Hospice of North Alabama, especially Anna and Sandy, for the loving care and support they provided.
