Flavious Lynn Randolph – Obituary

Flavious Lynn Randolph was born Dec. 1, 1939, to Cecil Randolph and Beatrice Warren Randolph. Flavious was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Kristen Laverol Randolph. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Joyce Pool Randolph; and his beloved son, Byron Randolph; two sisters, Charis Gillespie, Hillsboro, and Cheetah Gail Miller, Decatur; one half-brother, Terrell Randolph, Moulton.

Others considered as family are special neighbors, Gary and Micky Parker and their two sons, Andrew and Riley, who were considered as “borrowed grandsons”; also, Roger and Judy Hoskins, Va.

Flavious was a member of the Church of Christ, Hatton Masonic Lodge No. 879 and the Shoals Valley Scottish Rites. He served every office in his home lodge and served as secretary for several years until his health failed. He also served as Senior Grand Deacon, Grand Lodge, Montgomery, from 2004-2005.

Flavious graduated from Hatton High in 1959. During his school years he was active in all sports and was one of the “Fabulous Five” (as dubbed by the Moulton Advertiser) and they were county A Team basketball champs under Coach Wendell Logan, 1959.

He retired from Monsanto and enjoyed traveling with his Mason Brothers to various lodges in Ala., Tenn., Miss. and Ga. He worked hard in the lodge and helped in the neighborhood, particularly the schools. One of his favorite things was helping the young Masons enter the lodge.

Flavious will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Masons. His classmates will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation was Monday, April 15, 2013, 6-8 p.m., at Lawrence Funeral Home, Moulton, Ala. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel. Hillard Ayers and Gary Parker are officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery.
