Five Suspects Arrested …. Meth Lab Found

decatur police patchDECATUR-On Thursday, October 14 the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit made a drug bust of a Meth Lab:

On October 14, 2015 Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit contacted and spoke with the occupants of 228 Cedar Lake Rd Apt-C concerning complaints of alleged narcotics activity within the apartment. Officers later discovered components of a methamphetamine lab and contacted Investigators with the Organized Crime Unit to process the scene.

During the investigation Officers located several items consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine inside an attached storage room. Several items of drug use paraphernalia were also found. Officers located a two year old child inside the apartment along with five adults. The child was released to a family member that later arrived at the scene.

Jeremy Galen Cox was charged with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree and Chemical Endangerment of a Child. Ashley Michelle Gabbard was charged with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chelsea Elizabeth Peden was charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child and Loitering. Summer Blaxton and Jose Dominguez were each charged with Loitering.

Cox received a $5,000.00 bond and was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail. Gabbard and Peden each received a $3,000.00 bond and were later transferred the Morgan County Jail. Blaxton and Dominguez were processed in the Decatur City Jail and each issued a $500.00 bond. DHR will be notified concerning the welfare of the child and of the pending charges for the adults at the scene.”
