FLORENCE– Until further notice, the fishing pier at McFarland Campground is closed. As disappointing as it may be, this decision was made out of genuine care and concern for the safety and well-being of those who utilize the pier. We appreciate your patience as we work to determine a best course of action moving forward. The McFarland Campground fishing pier has been closed due to the finding of poor structural conditions and the closure takes place immediately.
The city says work will take place to make the pier safe for use but did not give a date certain when the work would begin.
