First Responder Accused Of Taking Medication From Patient

BrittonRUSSELLVILLE-Russellville Police have arrested Matthew Britton, 32 an employed as a first responder for Pleasant Bay ambulance Service. He has been arrested for allegedly taking medication from a patient while the patient was being transported by ambulance  to the Emergency Room.

Investigators said Britton responded to a call to transport a patient to the ER and while being transported the patient, who had their meds with them on the ambulance.  As the patient was being checked into the ER it was then the medication was taken.

Britton’s charges include theft of Property and Attempt to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime.  The type of medication Britton was accused of taking is unknown at this time.

Britton is being held in the Russellville City Jail and is awaiting a court hearing.
