Felston Rondell “Dale” Moody, age 86, of Phil Campbell, Al, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 04, 2024, after a full life of service and kindness.
Dale was born to Harvey and Nora Moody on August 03, 1938. He served his country as a military police officer for several years and went on to work various jobs throughout life. He retired from Mutual Savings Life Insurance company in 2000. He spent his retirement with his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara Moody. They enjoyed auctions, yard sales, flea markets and attending gospel singings especially to hear their great grandson, Jase Swinney sing. He loved fishing with children and grandchildren. Dale served his community as a councilman from 2000 to 2004. He was an active member of North Russellville Baptist Church. Dale loved the Lord and his family more than words can say.
The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 08, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 08, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. James McCullar officiating the service. The burial will be at Phil Campbell City Cemetery with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey & Nora Moody; siblings, Orville Calvert Moody, Murphy (Bill) Moody, Beatrice “Dot” Moody Jones (Frank), James Nathon Moody, Waffern “Tugg’ Moody (Betty), Wendall Moody, Jessielee Moody, Mary Ruth Moody, Elwanda Moody Johnson, and Hilbert Moody.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 36 years, Barbara Smith Moody, children, Donna Ables (Eric), Ron Moody (Della), Roger Moody (Derinda), Doug Swinney, Dianne Yarbrough (Tim) and Larry Swinney (Cathy); 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; siblings Lunette Moody Rice (Vernon), Randy Moody (Linda); sister in law, Betty Moody; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The pallbearers will be grandsons.
