Fayrene Ward Pickard, 88, of Bear Creek, AL. went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2024 while accompanied by her loving daughter, Twylia.
Fayrene was born November 28, 1935 in Haleyville, Al. to Ozie and Addie Ward. Fayrene married her husband Robert Russell Pickard on April 7, 1955, where they resided in Bear Creek, AL. Fayrene served as the school lunchroom manager for Phillips Schools for 25 years.
She was a member of Eastern Star was well as a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Phil Campbell, AL., she dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Fayrene traveled with Antioch Baptist Church on twenty-three mission trips throughout the United States.
Her guiding scripture was Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all shall be added unto you.”
Fayrene never sought our praise, instead, she served others throughout her life. She was as encouragement to all of her family members and friends, while loving each of them dearly. Fayrene always encouraged everyone to trust in the Lord.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday August 3, 2024 from 1:00PM – 2:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service at 2:00PM in the chapel, with Bro. George Whitten officiating. Burial to follow in Mountain Home Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Twylia Kay Pickard; grandson John (Maria) Bull; and great grandchildren Rowan Bull and Siena Bull; brothers, Raymond (Lola) Ward and Kenneth (Margaret) Ward; sisters, Nellie Mann and Jeanette (Robert) Mays; several nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Russell Pickard; daughter, Andrea Carol Pickard; parents, Ozie and Addie Ward; grandparents, Willie and Nigeria Ward, Robert and Margaret Kelley; sister, Margaret Sanders; brother, Charles E. Ward; brother in laws, Larry Mann and Jerry Sanders; in laws, Elijah Hartley and Minnie Lee Pickard.
