Faye McIntyre Abramson died peacefully at North Alabama Medical Center after a very brief illness on November 12,2024.
Born and raised in Oakland, Alabama, Faye was preceeded in death by her parents, Della and Fred McIntyre, brothers Fred Jr. and William (Bill), three sisters, Geraldine McIntyre Higgins, Marguerite McIntyre Whitfield and Hilda McIntyre Darby.
Faye is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Abramson, and their son Zac Abramson (Barry Baker) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A lifelong learner, Faye studied art, interior design, flower arranging and she was an avid reader. She loved cooking big and small meals and everyone was welcome at her table. There was nothing too hard for her to tackle and she never shied away from a new challenge, or project. Her motto was: “If you’re going to do something, do it to the very best of your ability.” She loved her home, her pets and singing with her friends in her church choir. Her family was her greatest love and their happiness her primary focus in life.
Faye was a communicant at Wesley Chapel United Methodist church in Central, Alabama and was active in all forms of community outreach programs. She leaves many dear and wonderful friends in central and north Alabama.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16,2024 with visitation beginning at noon, and the service beginning at 1:00 PM at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Central, Alabama. The Reverend Will Etheridge officiating. Pallbearers are Chad Vaden, Shannon Wellls, Jeff Herald, Jeff Wiley, Barry Baker, Tommy Ray and Dwight Borden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Meal at Trinity Episcopal Church, Florence, or The Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
