Faye Laponza Ayers

Ms. Faye L. Ayers  Faye Laponza Ayers, the daughter of the late Jim Ayers and Ada Mae Leslie Ayers, was born on July 23, 1960 in Ardmore, Tennessee. She was affectionately known to her family, especially to her grandchildren as “Granny”.

Sister Ayers accepted Christ at an early age and was a true believer in God. She was a member of Murchison Temple in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Faye received her education at Arlington High School Home of the Golden Knights, part of the Marion County I.P.S Indiana Public School system.

Faye loved her family and adored her grandchildren. Faye was mostly a dedicated homemaker and awesome mom but was also employed by the I.U.P.P.S Indiana Underground Plant Projection Service as a training supervisor for several years. Faye also enjoyed writing, cooking, crocheting and fishing, but music was her passion. She loved snapping her fingers, singing and dancing to old school 70’s music and R&B including but not limited to Luther Vandross, Gerald LeVert and especially Parliament-Funkadelic.

Faye departed this life on March 12, 2025 at the age of 64. In addition to her doting parents, she was also proceeded in death by her grandson Anthony Lee Carpenter, Jr.

Those left to cherish memories of Faye include her loving, supportive and amazing children, daughters: Shone’ Ayers of La Vergne, TN, Jamyla Noble and DeAndra Ayers all of Indianapolis, IN; sons: Jerome and Michael Ayers all of Indianapolis, IN, Nicholas Ayers of Kokomo, IN; her loving and supportive sister: Demeathra L. Ayers (Larry) Sanders both of Indianapolis, IN; her nieces: JaLynn and McKenzie Sanders all of Indianapolis, IN; her nephews: Kyleen Sanders of Indianapolis, IN and MSgt Larry Jr (Tiffany) Sanders both of Ktown, Germany (Texas, USA); her aunts: Linda and Joyce Ayers, Ella Warner, Lottie Hammonds, Elnora (Roosevelt) all of Huntsville, AL and Georgia (Vernon) Allen of Oceanside, CA; her uncles: James Goode, Johnny, Benford (Helen) and Robert Ayers all of Huntsville, AL; her friend of many years: Michael Noble of Phoenix, AR; thirteen grandchildren, four great-nieces and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral service for Ms. Faye L. Ayers will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810) with Dr. C. Jermaine Turner officiating.

Interment will be in Booker Cemetery, Harvest, AL.

Ms. Ayers will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, and from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Royal Funeral Home, Inc. (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810).

Family Hour will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025, at Royal Funeral Home, Inc.
