Faye HigginbothamFaye Higginbotham, a compassionate and kind-hearted soul, passed away on October 18, 2023 at the age of 81. She was born on June 2, 1942 in Lexington, MS to Mary Abels and Gid Hocutt. Faye was the youngest among her siblings, Peggy and Nancy. Sadly, both Peggy and Nancy have also departed from this world.

Throughout her life, Camella embraced motherhood with grace and dedication. She raised two wonderful children, Lynn (Debra) Higginbotham and Melissa Watson. Faye’s parenting style was characterized by fairness and responsiveness, ensuring that her children grew up loved and supported.

Faye experienced immense joy as a grandmother. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Morgan, Courtney, Dustin, Holly, Jacob, Logan, as well as three great grandchildren; Paxton, Saylor, and Jonah. Her affectionate presence and positive spirit made her a beloved figure in their lives.

Her best qualities shone brightly through every interaction she had with others. Compassionate to the core, Faye always extended a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness knew no bounds as she consistently showed empathy towards others’ struggles. Above all else, she maintained an unwaveringly positive outlook on life that inspired those around her.

For many years, Faye dedicated herself to serving Metro Schools as part of the Metro Food Services team. Her work ethic and commitment were unwavering as she played an essential role in ensuring students received nourishment each day.

Faye’s faith brought immense comfort and strength to her throughout her life. She was a devout Baptist who found solace in the teachings of her religion.

As we bid farewell to Faye Higginbotham, we remember her for the love she shared unconditionally and the positive impact she made on countless lives. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of the heavens above.

Rest in peace, dear Faye. You will forever be cherished and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
