Funeral for Faye Hembree, 84, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 1:00pm at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Anthony Simmons officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:00pm -1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Hembree was born May 31, 1939, in Tuscumbia, Alabama to Cecil Eugene and Mary Elsie Carmack Robinson. She died Saturday, February 17, 2024, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Hembree, son, Mark Hembree, grandson, Nick Hembree, sisters, Mary Kilpatrick, sister, Alta Fisher, and sister, Juanita Villigran.
She is survived by, son, David Hembree (Carolyn); daughter, Lisa Cline (David), daughter, Terina Self; six grandchildren, Casey Pendleton (Landon), Mark Hembree (Holly), Melanie Roberts, Megan Hembree, Riley Self (Jessica), and Ryan Self (Elivia) and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Aveanna Hospice and nurses, Carla Inmon, Megan Terry and Jessica Self for the care of Mrs. Hembree, also a thank you to David and Lisa Cline for bringing mother into their home and the excellent care they provide for her.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Research or St. Jude’s Hospital.
