Faye Hargett Green, 84, Jefferson (formerly of Lilburn and Dacula), passed away on March 8, 2024 surrounded by her family. Faye was born in Franklin County, Alabama (Belgreen community) on September 29, 1939, the daughter of Sid and Learly Hargett. She graduated from Belgreen High School, and then moved to Birmingham where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Bobby Green. They married on June 30, 1962. Faye and Bobby moved to Lilburn, Georgia in November of 1972, where they raised their two daughters.
Faye was employed by Gwinnett County Public Schools where she worked as a bus driver for 30 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, Faye was preceded in death by her six brothers: Grady, Athel, Billy, Leon, Johnny and Cotton Hargett; her two sisters, Vivian (Mel) Taylor and Lillian (J.T.) Thorn; and beloved sisters-in-law, Lucille Hargett and Margaret Hargett.
Survivors include daughters, Susan (Greg) Lee and Kelli Green; granddaughters, Lindsey (Wes) Robertson and Lauren (Cody) Thibeau; great-grandson, Cohen Thomas Thibeau; beloved sisters-in-law, Millerene Hargett and Diane Hargett; and, a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Faye’s family would like to recognize and thank the outstanding staff at Walden’s Cove Personal Care for their unyielding love and care for Faye in the last few years of her life.
Funeral services were held on March 12, 2024 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Wages and Sons Funeral Home (Gwinnett Chapel – 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA) with the Rev. Dennis Hargett officiating. Burial followed at Gwinnett Memorial Park. Pallbearers included Wes Robertson; Cody Thibeau; Earle Green; Ricky Hargett; Jeff Clark; and Mark Satterfield. Family received friends on from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Wages and Sons Funeral Home.
