Faye Ford King

Faye Ford King, age 89 of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her residence.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel.  Burial will be at New Prospect Cemetery.  Wayne Abbott will officiate.

Faye was born on July 14, 1934 in Jasper, Alabama to proud parents, Daniel Ford and Victoria Kemp Ford.  She was a graduate of Curry High School in 1953, where she met her husband Thomas King, they were married for 55 years.  Faye loved to be around the public working as a sales clerk for many years.  She worked and G.C. Murphys and at Son’s Supermarket for 25 years.  She never met a stranger and was always eager to make a friend.  She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, gardening and shopping.  She was a firm believer in gifts from the heart.  Her gardening knowledge was extensive, easily being able to name each flower and bush she saw.  She enjoyed taking adventures with her family and friends.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, her grandkids called her “Granny Faye”.

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her Father-Daniel Ford; Mother-Victoria Kemp Ford; Husband-Thomas H. King; Brother-Kenneth Ford; Son-in-law-Keith Cantrell; Baby Thomas.

She is survived by her Daughter-Dannita K. Cantrell; Sons-Michael Thomas King (Lisa M. King) and Mark Howard King (Lisa F. King); Grandchildren-Daniel Thomas King, Robin Michelle Kidd (Joshua), Khanie K. Cantrell and Lily Marie King.
